NOW COMES THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA, by and through the undersigned
Assistant District Attorney, pursuant to Rule 24 of the General Rules of
Practice for Superior and District Courts and applies to the Court for a
Pretrial Conference in the above captioned case. The defendant named above has been
indicted for the offense of First Degree Murder, which is a crime punishable by
death, and Rule 24 mandates a hearing in such cases. Therefore, as required by Rule 24 the
State respectfully requests the Court to schedule a Pretrial Conference in the
above captioned matter within the next forty-five (45) days.
