         THIS MATTER COMING ON TO BE HEARD, on the State’s Application for a Rule 24 Conference, and being heard, at the regular July 24, 2000 term of Stanly County Criminal Superior Court before the Honorable Larry G. Ford, the Court, having heard from both the State and the Defendant, does hereby:

 

         ORDER, ADJUDGE AND DECREE that:

 

1.       A Rule 24 Conference was held on the below date and above location with the defendant named above and his attorney(s) in attendance; and,

2.       The State informed the Court that the death penalty will be sought in this case; and,

3.       The State contends that there is evidence in support of at least one statutory aggravating circumstance listed in NCGS 15A-2000(e); and,

4.       The Court determined that the defendant was properly and competently represented by two attorneys; and,

5.       There being no further issues that could be narrowed at this time in anticipation of trial, the Court finds that the requirements of Rule 24 of the General Rules of Practice for the Superior and District Courts of North Carolina have been fully complied with at this time.
