Traffic COURT
Administrative Traffic Court in the 20th Prosecutorial District is designed to be a user-friendly system to dispose of infractions and minor traffic offense pleas in a quick and efficient manner.

There are three main things that you need to know before appearing in Administrative Court. First, if you qualify for this court, the officer that issues the citation will give you a notice as set out below. Second, law enforcement officers are not present for Administrative Traffic Court. Finally, trials are not held in Administrative Traffic Court. If you want to have a trial for an infraction, either you or your attorney will have to appear in Administrative Traffic Court to obtain a trial date.

If you qualify for Administrative Traffic Court, the notice you receive should state the following:

Unless you pay off the ticket beforehand, you must appear in Administrative Traffic Court on the date set on your ticket.

The District Attorney’s Office cannot give you legal advice, such as how a speed reduction will affect your insurance points. (SEE THE LINK BELOW TO ANSWER THOSE QUESTIONS).
