ELDER ABUSE AND EXPLOITATION: A MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO JUSTICE

This multidisciplinary course will offer prosecutors, legal assistants, law enforcement, Adult Protective Services staff and other allied professionals the opportunity to discuss important issues and obstacles in the prosecution of cases involving older and disabled adults.  This conference will address the common misconceptions that often hinder the successful prosecution of such crimes, offer practical tools for overcoming these barriers and will assist you in understanding the dynamics of working with older and disabled victims.  This course will address physical abuse, sexual assault and financial exploitation.

Rate:  $71.20/night plus taxes for a standard side ocean view/limited view room; and $129.00/night plus taxes for an oceanfront room.

Reimbursements: To be eligible for reimbursement of meals, and hotel expenses you must be in overnight status (35 miles away from your home or duty station, whichever is closer). If you are not in overnight status, you will only be reimbursed for mileage. Reimbursement forms will be given out at the conference with instructions on what you may or may not claim to be reimbursed.
