Internships

Inclusion Criteria:
If you are interested in working in the Durham County District Attorney’s Office as an intern, you must meet the following criteria:


Law school students must have completed 2 years of law school when they begin their externship with us.  Successful applicants will be certified by the NC State Bar to try cases under the Practical Training of Law Student Rules prior to their start date.  Candidates should apply through your Career Services Simplicity online system.


Undergraduate students must have completed their junior year, and seeking a degree in Criminal Justice, Political Science or other related course of study.  Students should first check with their Career Services Office and/or professor in charge of your program of study before sending application materials directly to the District Attorney’s Office. 


Deadlines:
April 1st for Fall semester (minimum 10-12 hrs/week required)
November 1st for Spring semester (minimum 10-12 hrs/week required)
February 1st for Summer semester (Full-time – no “split” summers; minimum 30-40 hrs/week required)
