Administrative Traffic Court is an informal Court without a Judge where ordinary citizens can come to handle minor traffic violations. It was developed for working families with minor traffic violations so they can minimize their time from work and family. A partnership with Surry Community College, Forsyth Tech and AAA provides a driving school for some drivers. By disposing of these cases in Traffic Court, it allows Criminal District Court to spend its valuable time handling other more serious offenses. The policies and procedures for Administrative Traffic Court are as follows:
YOU MUST APPEAR in administrative court on the dates set on your ticket unless you pay off the ticket. You may ask for a reduction of the charge(s) if you have a good driving record only on your scheduled court date.
