Prosecutor Training
Through various grant-funded projects, the Conference is able to provide North Carolina prosecutors and law enforcement officers with multiple educational opportunities pertinent to their job. The goal of this training calendar is to give each individual the opportunity to view all available training in advance, plan their calendars and have the chance to ask any questions regarding these programs.
For a description of each training, including who should attend, please refer to The Source. Please direct any questions about a specific training to the person or persons responsible for that training, or you may contact us for any additional information.

CLE Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How much is the fee for CLE hours?
A: Each hour of CLE is $3.00
Q: How do I know if I have to pay for my CLE hours?
A: You will be responsible for any CLE hour you earn from the Conference, with the exception of the Summer or Fall Association Meeting.
Q: How many CLE hours do I need each calendar year?
A: An active member of the North Carolina State Bar who does not qualify for an exemption must take twelve (12) hours of approved CLE during each calendar year. Of the twelve CLE hours, at least two (2) must be devoted to the area of professional responsibility (ethics) or professionalism. At least once every three calendar years, you must complete one hour on substance abuse and debilitating mental conditions. This hour is credited to the twelve hour requirement for the year, but not to the two hour professional responsibility requirement
Q: In what years does the Conference offer Substance Abuse hour?
A: The Conference offers the Substance Abuse hour once every three years. It was most recently offered in 2007 and will be offered in the following years: 2010, 2013, 2016, etc.
Q: Can I get my Substance Abuse hour in an off year?
A: Yes. You are able to earn your substance abuse hour in an off year through the Conference by viewing a video of a previous training that offered this credit. Please contact Sara Phillips at the Conference office for more information and to schedule a viewing date/time.
Q: What do I do if my annual report has too many CLE hours or is missing CLE hours?
A: You may cross out any hours on your annual report that you do not want to claim for the year. You may also add any hours to your annual report that you feel you should have received but did not appear on your report from the State Bar. Please contact the State Bar directly with any questions or concerns about your annual report.
